FETAC Level 5

Purpose:To provide learners with the skill and knowledge to create and design spreadsheets for a range of tasks. This course will give students practical experience of using spreadsheets in a business environment as they gain an understanding of fundamental spreadsheet concepts.
Course Content
- Getting started with Excel
- Modifying a worksheet
- Formatting a worksheet
- Developing a workbook
- Printing workbook contents
- Customising layout
- Creating and modifying charts
- Using formulas containing both Relative and Absolute cell references
- Calculating with advanced functions
- Sorting data
- Creating and applying macros
- Spreadsheet design and implementation
Students who successfully complete this course will be competent to create and edit basic Microsoft Office Excel worksheets and workbooks. They will have the knowledge and skills required to apply advanced formulas to a worksheet, to manage and display data in various formats, including visual elements.
Duration: 8 x 3 hour sessions
Entry Requirements: Level 4 Certificate, Junior Certificate or equivalent and/or relevant life/work experience
